About me

 JL French is a weaver of words and tales that can tell an audience a story within a story that will hold them spellbound until the last page. JL’s narratives will carry you back through time with historical fantasies exploring another road not taken that provides a luminous story that readers don’t want to end. For those who crave a fantastical tale, JL interlaces characters from myth and legends into modern-day fantasies that reside in richly imagined urban worlds that draw readers within. 

That sounds great for a book jacket but who am I? I am an avid reader. I kid you not I can read a novel a day if the world was so great as to stack them up beside me. I love writing at night. Usually, outside I will see the stars and the moon and the clouds drifting over them and my mind starts to click. I love plants. I can't grow flowers but I can grow ivies like you wouldn't believe. My neighbors call me the 'plant lady' because I am always giving them plants. I love heavy metal. I know, I've had to wear head phones since I was a teenager. 

I love fantasy. Movies are a guilty pleasure when I have the time and when I get the rare opportunity to binge a show I am glued  to the couch. This is my second website. My first? It was a Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan site that I finally had to shut down because it got so big.

I love animals. Cats are my faves but I don't have one right now. After my last one passed away I didn't know if I could love one that much again. Ash was a Maine Coon, and he was huge. Seriously he could fill a laundry basket and he purred like a mac truck. I miss him.

I love to read new authors and will grab one off the library shelf when I have the chance to explore their writing. I also buy quite a few on Kindle to support new authors, and then I share their books with friends. 

Last but not least I love Dr. Pepper. I lived in Cali for a while and they kept trying to tell me out there Mr. Pibb was the same. Trust me, it's not.
